Default beefing the stock tranny

Like the title says, I'm looking to beef my stock 4l60e. My truck is a bone stock crew cab 5.3 and I've already had problems with my tranny; it is shifting harder than normal between first and second and is hanging up between the other gears. GM is trying to wiggle out of the warranty, so I'm screwed. Any ideas howto make my tranny last longer?

they kept the truck for 3 days and claimed they couldn't fix the problem and called gm and did all their checks; then they said there was some plate they replaced and sent me home, but the problem still exists. my warranty runs out in may or 2k miles, whichever hits first; i think they're just trying to hold me off till after the warrenty and then i'm screwed.

Classic GM wiggle. Had an issue with the A/C compressor on my old Yukon (2002). I was 500 miles from surpassing the 36K warranty. Had that thing in the shop for 3 weeks to fix the issue. They tried to hand it back to me after nearly two weeks of troubleshooting.... claiming they couldn't duplicate the issue. When I went to drive off, the rattling noise (from the compressor) made itself known. Laid into the horn til the service manager came out. He heard it, and said "I'll put you in a rental at no charge".

I'd take the service manager for a ride in the truck. Point out the issue, and tell them to fix it. Depending on the problem, most dealerships will just replace it (faster).
