axle ratio???

Hi,for the 08 denali the stock axle ratio is 3.42 ,i have a superchip and it give a funtion to change the axle ratio so can any body tell me more about this feature and what is the recommended ratio?

that feature is if you physically change the gears so the computer can compensate for the change.
