gear oil, yes. I havent taken it apart yet to see if another groove is worn in the shaft or something, too much other stuff to do.

wondering if your housing end is ever so slightly misshaped causing it to leak were the seal meats the tube.... This is assuming the new axle shaft is ok...

What are the odds two friggin huge axle shafts are warped? Im not sure if it leaking around the shaft or on the outside next to the tube...

Yep, that spacer is exactly it. Now I just need two that are 2.5" thick

The only "damage" to the old axle was a slight groove worn in it, see page 1 for a pic. But if a brand new shaft is doing the same thing, was the first one even damaged...

haha, its not a big deal, just annoying seeing one wheel all gunked up on the inside, and I occasionally get a sniff of the gear oil smell. If it was the passenger side it wouldnt bother me at all
