Default Anyone installed a transgo 4L80E actuator limiter valve repair kit

My used 130k mile 4L80E is not holding OD or TCC lockup at times at highway speeds. Around town say below 45 mph and when the fluid is cold its fine but once it reaches operating temp it really starts going nuts. Its on the back of the last page of the transgo HD2 instructions. Says valve body wear causes low pressure when hot, clutch, band and converter slippage, wrong gear starts and neutrals on highway. I've checked the control side out on mine and it all seems to be ok. Just wondering where I can get one of these kits and for how much and if that sounds like what I really need.

Just remember there is a local trans shop that loads up all their rebuilds with transgo parts. They should either have the stuff or can get it. Would be better since the repair kit comes with enough parts to do 6 transmissions and I would only need one.

Maybe I've overlooked something but this seems like the most logical solution. I know I'm not loosing my solenoid B signal, my clutches looked like new when I put the transmission in and so on. Everything looked great but I never did inspect for valve body wear.

Just reviewed the datalog I took of it actually doing it and I was cruising along at 45 mph light throttle about 35-30 psi line pressure then it dropped like a rock to around 6-9 psi and went to slipping which I then dropped it to 3rd and all was fine. Explains why my shifts have softened up some, especially 2-3. Weird that it doesn't always do it though. If it was a seal it would be low all the time. When my TCC PWM valve wore on my 99 4L60E it would randomly loose pressure and unlock sort of like what this is doing.

Talked to Archie today and after some discussion we are about 90% positive its valve where causing the fluid pressure loss. Said he can do it for about 160 parts and labor thats providing I take the valve body to him. Was also recommended getting a new force motor, pressure control solenoid, whatever you want to call it. Around 250 for parts and all so I guess thats not too bad. This transmission is in too good of shape to let it get smoked.
