Default Anyone 05 Z71 lowering knowledge would be appreciated

Fairly new to the site. I got my Silverado in 05 brand new. Its a z71 ext Cab 5.3 I currently have helped bags in the rear and a leveling kit (torsion keys) in the front. I dont drive my truck as much as I used to so I have been doing things ive finally wanted to do to it.

I know people always dog on 4x4s wanting to go lower. But I been looking at kits and hardly anyone makes a kit for my truck 4x4. Ive found one by Djm its a 3/4. The only flip kits I could find say they are for 2wd. Is there any reason it wouldnt work on a 4x4?
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks for all the help.

Flip kit for a 2wd will work perfectly fine on your truck, though I seem to remember hearing somewhere along the line that the stock 4wd drive shaft is too long to run with a flip kit (don't quote me on that though, I could be, and probably am way off).

Quite a few lowered 4x4's on here to help you figure out what to do. How low do you want to go?

How good of a ride quality do u want? Mine is 4wd and think i spent mabe 350 bones with shocks on my drop. Ride is a little ruff but theres always kits up for sale on here cheap.. Once i put my hangers on i think ill have a about a 3/5 drop. What i used consists of torsion keys, shackels removed the added block, and will be putting my hangers on shortly to get it level with the front. The way i lowerd mine is def not the best but im sure the cheapest lol

Hope this helps im sure other people will chime in.

heres a pic to give u an idea

My tire to Fender in the front is 8 1/4" but thats with my leveling kit. Take out my level kit and stock should be about 6 1/2" (about stock height) Then I could do a 3" Lowering arm kit and 2" drop spindles in the front.
As for the rear it sits 9 1/4 with my bags remove my bags itll be about 7 1/2" (Im not real sure what stock is so it may be lower) so to match the front id have to go about 6"
5/6 or a 4/5 would be great. best Ive seen is a 3/4 (DJM)
What Im looking for is my tires a little below my wheel well a lot like Zeke2007's front end.

If you run the 3" djm arms make sure and run the uppers too or you will have camber problems.

I had 3" arms and purple keys in mine and it was low..

Here's how my truck sits with purple keys de-cranked in the front, and shackles, hangers, and block removed in the rear, with 31.5" tall tires (going smaller once summer rolls around).

Ya yours sits real nice. Id like something like that a bit higher would be awesome too. Good looking ride. I noticed you're in NJ, Im working in Philadelphia right now. My tires are about 31" I think but how does your stock height compare to mine?

Mines a lowered 4x4 also. I bought spindles and hangers from belltech along with shackles from them. I got purple keys for free so I threw those in and wanted the back lower so I got a deal on some belltech lowering leafs and changed out the springs. my sig pic is the final height after that stuff. Shocks is up to you, I got the belltech black ones (I forgot the name) and they are stiff, but I like a solid ride feel.

My stock fender heights were 36.5" front, and 38.5" rear, and the current height is about 32.75" all the way around. If you want it to sit a bit higher, you could easily not de-crank the front as much as I did, and just run shackles and no blocks in the rear.

Here's how mine sat with just shackles and no blocks in the rear (with the front still where it is now).

And yeah, I'm about 40 minutes outside of Philly.
