Considering getting their modified 4.8 converter with 2200-2400 stall. I tow a 14 foot tandem axle landscape trailer in the summer with 2 1000lb lawnmowers on it. I have read a lot about the modified TB converters, but not much about these.

Anybody using one?

How is the MPG?

 

I run one with a billet front plate.It flashes to 3000 in my set-up.

I've emailed Chris. He said I'd lose about 1mpg and said it should work good for my app.

I just wanted to hear opinions from people that have this converter. I like to do a lot of research before I buy products.

Get circle d 3200.. Your

i ran a 278mm circle d on my 4.8.
I would run at least a 2600 278mm.
I used to tow with my truck frequently, just be sure to add a 40k cooler and your set.
your going to want more stall speed so jump up a lil nigher now.
I ran the 2600 and after a few months i wanted a 3000.

 

I don't race my truck. It's just a DD that I tow with often in the summer. Gas is expensive now. Looking for the best MPG possible. So I was looking at the lowest stall they offer because I will need a new TC for my trans rebuild.
