running 180-200 normally is high. Mine runs 130-145 normally. Gets up to 150-160 if i beat on it a bunch. That was with the stock cooler and stock stall though.
Get that 40k Trucool! You know about that bracket kit too right? "Teesee150" is the guy on here to get them from, worth the money IMO

I'm told him that earlier.
He might be able to get thru winter easier, but I think lifted guys have to overbuild their trucks to a far greater degree than us lowered guys to compensate for "issues'.
RJ, you'll be pleased w/. that 40K TruCool.
Right after I got my tranny/stall/cooler setup together I went down the street from my brother's hose. Maybe 500', & watched my rad temp (not trans) go from 210° down to 185°. I know that 40K has a part in that. I don't have a tranny temp gauge yet, so can't verify a drop there, but I'm confident there would be. Gauge is on my list.

Yukons or Motives is what you want, historically speaking if you want them to last and be silent. I have Motives in mine, they are a little cheaper than the Yukons but don't make any noise.
Obviously the best gears will be OEM, but for your application they are about $500 per axle. So you would be spending $1,000 before even purchasing master install kits and factoring in labor. Nobody is going to know the difference between Yukons and OEM gears though, so there is no need for all that.

$500 per axle, don't u mean $250? Where are u gettin your gear sets from, I think u overpaid.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Motive sooner. AAM or Motive would be choices, in that order. I want my gears to be quiet, so I can hear my exhaust.

Went to the trans shop yesterday and come to find out that the torque converter took a ****. I have a trail blazer ordered from Chevrolet All The Way and should be here by Wednesday at the latest so I will be out of a truck till then.
The transmission fluid was black and thick, some of the clutches were melted together.
I hope this one will last longer then 6 months!

Gotcha. Chris's modded TB is $375 BTW. So, your tranny guy was fair on tearing your tranny apart / how bad did your wallet suffer? I ask, cause altho I'm not reading thru 6 pgs. again, I referred to post #1 as to his call.

I know u wondered how it'd be warrantied, so... long as $1000 was what u expected, cool. As I have no idea what someone would charge to do that (R&R and also repair), since I did my own. If the tranny had been at fault & not converter, think it'd be a freebie?
