I bought my gears from Randy's and they said to either run Yukon or AAM[for quality, quiet gears].

Remember man-you get what you pay for.

It might cost a little more now to get better gears but it is a hell out a lot more expensive to replace the front or rear set-ups if the gears don't last.

That's is very true. I do not want to buy another true trac along with gears.

Sharpshooter- Where did you get your gears from, is that a web site or a local store?

I apologize, I thought it was that. Now I know. Either way I wouldn't want to buy a differential at full price.

Can you PM me a link for the site?

Josh's step dad did mine. The gear swaps are the only thing we have needed help with on our trucks so far.So I wouldn't be any help.

What needs to be done though-remove the front diff. assembly totally from the truck.Split the case and swap the gears with the new install kit.If your friend has done rears he can figure out the front. My truck and Josh's are the only IFS fronts his step dad has ever done.He just figured it out as we went.
