OK I'm confused? Why do do you want to change the bell housing on this trans? I see that your old trans was for a lt1 however what you have now is for a ls1. If you change the bell to a lt1 bell you are going to have issues with the spacing because the ls1 bell is taller. Also if you have the stator and input for the ls1 you will never get the trans to mate to the back of the engine.
On another note if your vehicle was originally equipped with the same style unit you pulled out in this thread, I would think that your front drive shaft might be a bit short now and the rear shaft might be a bit long now with the trans you have installed! Like I said I'm confused and might have missed something here. Vince

my core was bad, so my builder had a 60E from a 03 SSS, he used my pump, shafts etc so i could use my LT1 converter, what we didnt know was the LS1 bell is 3/4 of an inch taller than the LT1 bell, when i installed it with the LS bell, there was a inch gap from the flywheel to the converter pads and my crossmember didnt line up. So my builder overnighted me a LT bell. swapped them out and beautiful, everything lines up and theres 1/8 of an inch gap from flywheel to converter pads. see what im saying?
