nonnielselman, If by year you mean bpope, I can't say for him. I'm an 04. Great info; I'll need to keep u in mind when/ if the time comes for 80e. I never saw boosted in your sig...

Yes my 60' time is the same and more consistent. Yes its about 100lbs heavier. I bought the best 65e FLT has to offer it didnt last 5k miles behind my Radix. Installing the 80e wasnt bad at all. The 65e looks more like a foreign trans then like a truck trans

Do you know anyone with a 6.0L pickup you can take for a spin? The shifts in a 4L80-E feel different compared to a 700R4. The ratios are closer too, so less RPM drop even with a stock low-stall speed converter.
It's definately an investment. You can expect a 5% hit (or more) to fuel economy with the extra weight, frictional losses, and lesser overdrive. Such is the price of boost...
