OK, I can't stand the "slushbox" anymore. I want to firm up my shifts and improve the life expectancy and characteristics of my tranny. I do tow with my truck, and I do romp on it from time to time, however it isn't my playtoy. I have the Z28 for that.
I'm looking for "positive" shifts in normal driving and I would like a "firm" shift at WOT. If the tire's occassionally chirp on the 1-2 shift I'm alright with that.
Right now my truck is stone stock except for a muffler. It will have;
- PCM tuning
- Intake
I'm also considering adding;
- LT headers
- Colder thermostat
Basically what I'm getting at here is the tried/true proven bolt ons. I don't want to go crazy with the truck. As far as my tranny goes...
- TransGo HD2
- Corvette Servo
- Sonnax 4th Gear Servo
- Hardened Seperator Plate
- Possibly a deep pan/filter kit
I will also of course make sure that with tuning only the TM is pulled out, and maybe the lockup of the verter changed. I will be leaving the shift time and line pressure alone.
Please give me a thumbs up or thumbs down on what I've got listed. Also any constructive criticism is welcome.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

YOu already have hte "deep" pan. The only upgrade in the pan is to get one with the ribs or vents or w/e you want to call them. I would probably set the transgo up on the weakest settings if you are going ot tow. You may be satisfied with just turning up the line pressure?
Servo deffinately wortht eh 30$ or so.

Thanks for the replies. From what I've read the TransGo on a "weak" setting will likely be my best bet. I'm going to contact the tranny sponsors so I can get parts ordered and installed when I get back stateside.

The only reason I mentioned the deep pan/filter kit was becuase I saw it on FLT's website.
While I'm at it, what does the vacuum modulator kit do? Or is it just for installing a 4L60 into a non computer controlled application?

The vac mod will take the place of the epc solenoid. This will help with any line pressure issues do to tuning or other vehicle related problems that could effect the transmissions line pressure. This might be a little much for the DIY guy but is an option if you feel up to it. Vince

Thanks for the reply Vince. Actually you're on my list of people to contact. I'll be needing some tranny goodies when I get back and from what I've read you're the guy to call.
