Default Air checking clutches, 4L80E

Kind of a weird question here, but when air checking clutches what pressure should this be done at? I'm using a crummy little 12V air compressor but with it I can test the clutches up to 30-40psi, more than enough for the clutches to apply fully. Is that enough? I figure higher pressure would reveal leaks better, but I don't want to go too high for fear of damaging the lip seals or case lugs. I know line pressures can get into the hundreds of psi, but is that what the clutches see?

Thanks!

At WOT, pressure will be higher than that, so you aren't hurting it at that pressure.

Okay thanks, I just wanted to be sure.

Not quite assembled. Everything behind the center support is installed, but I need to take out the center support again to change the low roller clutch. All the other parts are boxed up. I'm going to finish assembling the clutch packs today and will test them again at work and where I have a real air compressor.

Watch pressure checking it when it's not assembled as you can damage some of the seals.

Which seals? Lip seals? I will test the clutches with the clutch packs in so there isn't piston excess travel. Or are you talking about the sealing rings on the center support and turbine shaft?

I dont know honestly as I forget, I think the lip seals. Its been awhile since mine was done now and I forget what my buddy (trans builder) told me when he was doing it.
