Default Ah! 4l80e swap, 2500 HD dipstick is not working!!

So I went to the dealer a couple weeks ago, bought a dipstick off a 2002+ 2500HD truck for my 4l60e to 4l80e

After a night of hell, I was ready to add transmission fluid so I go to install the dipstick and it isn't working out at all. I then compared it to my 4l60e dipstick and it was exactly the same

what do you guys think?

whats the PN of it? If its the same as the 60, then obvsly its not the 80e stick. As well as, those are a bitch to put in if you do it after installing the tranny.

Yup, it was the wrong part they gave me, I got the new one and it looks totally different from the 60e dipstick. Hopefully I will get lucky and get it in in a timely manner!

You need one from a 2500HD avalanche or suburban.

If you've already installed the transmission, and now you're trying to put the tube in, it's gonna be a huge PITA. The trick is to get the tube "situated" while you're stabbing the transmission.

If that's the case, remove the coil pack & right side valve cover to get some extra room. You may also need to raise/lower the rear of the transmission for some additional room to get that thing in there. Good luck!

no need to remove the coils or anything else. Just stab it to the right a bit of where it is supposed to end up and rotate counter-clockwise as it goes down.

This has never failed me and I always use Truck dipstick tubes.
