Interesting, I would have figured you'd be running a 14 bolt by now.

Nope....when I launch hard at the track it's always in 4wd, so the load is split between the front and rear diff. When I have it in 2wd I can never get enough traction to stress the 10 bolt enough to break it.

I have broken the spider/side gears on an Eaton Posi. I just bought new gears and rebuilt it and it has been fine for nearly two years.

Not one specific brand really stands out in the broken department. I need to replace the G80 something bad.

I thought I was going to get pulled over yesterday. I was pulling out of a restaurant and the light before had recently gone green. A couple of vehicles were hard charging out from the light and needed to give it some gas to get moving since I was already pulled out and in my lane. The passenger rear let loose and continue a bit after the shift into second. I slow down a tad back to near the speed limit. I look back there was tire smoke floating around. I go a little further up the crest of a little hill, look in the review, and there was a cop a hundred yards back getting ready to drive through the remnants of tire smoke. I cruised a bit and nothing transpired.

Anyway, if the G80 was working correctly, I would not had spun nearly as bad considering I was not even trying.

i found when i had my G80 that i could never make it lock up mid-turn. if i wanted to swing out the rear end of the truck, i'd have to get the tires spinning, then turn. the G80 just doesn't like to lock up while turning... well to me it seems. then again i'm not exactly pushing the power you are.

I know by design it doesnt lock up past a certain mph. That may have been the case here. However, I have had it the past lock up while going WOT at 25+.

Anyway, after the first of the year there will be a new transmission, converter, and lsd installed. I have had the tranny in the garage for a month now. I paid down some bills and was ready to purchase the other stuff. Then I thought I lost my wallet. I cancelled all my **** and found the wallet a few hours later. Now I have to wait to get replacement cards.
