? About Control Arms....
#1
I have a set of 4" lower control arms, and I'm wondering if ya'll think it would be alright to run the stock shocks up front for right now. I also have the rear flip kit, and some Belltech Nitro Active shocks, but don't have the c-notch yet. Wondering if you think it would be ok for about 2-3 weeks while I wait on the c-notch to get here. I will be replacing the front shocks here shortly, but don't have them yet, and I want this thing lowered. Every truck I've owned I've put a lowering kit on, and now this thing looks like a 4x4 right now at stock ride height!!
Thanks Guys,
Austin

The control arms are made to use stock shocks, so that will not be a problem. As for the rear, without a cnotch, the axle will be sitting on the frame. The ride will be as stiff as it could be. Personally I would not recommend it as I am sure it doesn't help the frame or axle any, but I don't know that there would actually be any effects from it.

Yeh, I started it, but haveing a bit of trouble. Have you ever wanted to just set your truck on fire, and just walk away? Yeh, that's where I'm at now! Can't get the ball joints to seat, so they keep spinning when I try to tighten the nut. Can't get the shock to extend down far enough to bolt it on the bottom. Can't take the shock off because it's rusted up on the top. Havin ALOT OF ****** fun today.

Well finally finished it. On the passenger side I couldn't get the top A-arm ball joint to pop out, so I had to use 2 jacks and jack both sides of the lower control arm up, take those 2 bolts out, lower it VERY slowly, then everything was alright. Get everything together and went to try it out, and there is a screeching noise comin from the passenger side. It's like it only does it on one spot, cuz it goes with the tires rotation. I don't know what the **** that's all about. I don't think there's anything rubbing or anything like that, so I'm lost. Now, probably gonna have to take it to the mechanic shop and see what they think about it. Who knows. I just don't know what could cause it to do that.
