Just did a tranny swap like that a couple days ago.

I recommend using the L shaped allen tool, with like a pri-bar for leverage and work it slowly. I stripped one of them, so I just welded a nut to it and got it off by it just breaking.

I recommend going and buying the hex style bolts and replacing those allen ones.

To keep the flywheel from spinning I just put the tranny in park with the lever on the side of the tranny, or put a socket on the crank pulley and had someone hold/spin it.

I would have screamed a blood curdling scream if those were in my flexplate.

Yeah a few choice words came to mind... And they will be getting replaced once I get them out. I dont plan on doing this again, but just incase I dont want to deal with it.

Try having to deal with those bolts on a regular basis, had one week or two ago had those bolts in it, didnt even bother with the allen socket.... Air hammered them out and replaced them...

I actually ended up getting all 3 out. I got the sockets then on the 1st one it started to round. Figured that would be my luck with whole way around so I spun to the 2nd one, but that time I tapped the socket in with a hammer to make sure it was fully seated in there. It broke loose easily, so I did the same thing on the 3rd one with the same result. Then I want back to the 1st one that was half way stipped and I hammered the hell out of the socket on that one. Put a jack handle over the breaker bar I was already using and gave it hell. It finally broke loose. Now I'm stuck trying to get it seperated from the engine. I've got the trans dipstick tube stuck between the bellhousing and the firewall so it wont slide back far enough to get off the dowel pins.
