99 GMC Sierra 4l60e removal, need some help!
#24
Finally got the thing off and to the rebuild shop. I just got a pry bar between the engine and trans case and hammered away. Popped right off.
Now onto a couple questions. Is there a "how to" on the install somewhere with torque specs on these bolts or is it just run them in with an impact situation?
Can I replace those torque converter bolts with grade 8 bolts from lowes with the same thread and length? or do they need to be a speicial type?

Get converter bolts from dealer they are maybe $6-7 a piece... Unless you are getting a converter from circle d or whatever then they should come with bolts.... Technically there are torque specs on everything but run them in until you acheive goodentite, and youll be fine....

Alright thanks. If I give them my year I'll end up with the same allen heads is it safe to just tell them 02? That should get me the 15mm heads right?
And would you guys use loctite on any of them?

Awesome guys thanks. I'll give the dealer a call and grab those.
Now how about cleaning the trans cooler and lines. I broke the shell so i'm not sure how much metal might be floating around in there. when I dropped the pan to drain it there was nothing crazy in there but it was metallic.
