uncle has a 96 tahoe and he called me telling me he can turn it on but it will not go into gear. the shifter will not move. I know that on my SS when I press the brake I can hear a clonk(relay) and then I can move the shifter. He said he can not hear the clonk when he presses the brake. Were is the relay or what should I look for?

Ask him if his brake lights are working, he may have a bad brake light switch. There is a shift lock that won't allow you to put the vehicle in gear unless the brake is applied. Check the fuses first...
