Yep...supporting rods used on the 4x4's.
Even then...there are still differences in the cover. I bought one for mine thinking it was correct...but didn't fit. I have another coming and should be here in a couple of weeks. I'll check out the differences and post what I find.
Here's the one I have which DOESN'T fit.

Well don't know what cover to get but I do know it will be damn nice being able to tighten up TC bolts without pulling the starter and standing on your head to get to them.

FWIW I think it is GM part # 42740. NP261 32 Spline.
Scratch this, I think part number is 19019 for a NP246 32 spline 4l80e input shaft.

Mine came from a NP241.
If you look around....you might find a complete transfer case cheaper than just the shaft.

Just an example.
I've seen them for as little as $100.

I've found the input shaft for about $100. Now the delhima. Do I go ahead and get like the chain and bearings for while I'm in it. Bout 80K miles. Only part of the drive line that is original to the truck.

It's here. No pan. I think its an 06. Advertised as an 05 with 6k miles. Tagged 6BSP. Has all the speed sensor connectors on it. Good. Also the neutral switch. Will I swap the 60E one to it or use the 80E and rewire?

The 60E neutral switch should bolt straight to it without the need for any wiring changes/joins etc. Seems to me that'd be the best way to go.
You will need the cable bracket which bolts onto those other two lugs towards the rear. The 60E bracket won't fit the 80E.

Top: 60E
Bottom: 80E
