Default 80e Swap - Check list and ??

I'll be gathering parts over the next couple months.

Here is the list. Missing anything?

4l80e tans - on the way
6.0L Flexplate and spacer - already have
4l80e torque converter - trans comes with stock - GET PI
4l80e Dipstick tube
Wiring harness mods for the 80E
Wiring up the second speed sensor to the PCM - need connector
New transmission cooler lines.
Modified Cross member
Input gear swap in the auto trac transfer case to accept the larger 80e intput shaft.
Shorten the rear DS or yoke?
Lengthen the front DS
4l80e segment swap to the PCM tune. - Done.
Transgo HD kit

Questions:
The transfer case input shaft? Get from GM? A better source? Part #?

I've read about a different drive shaft yoke. Details please? Could I just safely modify mine to get the length out of the driveshaft. My truck has the one piece aluminum DS

Do you do improved servo's with an 80E?

i'm with you on this i can find certain things discussed on this forum about this swap but not very detailed they show the crossmember and the dipstick tube and wiring but the cooler lines are not talked about or the yoke either someone said they were a long th400 yoke but I would like to know a part number on it and the parts used to extend the cooler line cause i don't like the idea of splicing into it.

No servos with an 80e

Sorry I went with a steel Drive shaft and don't a have a part no# on the yoke it is big and strong looking compared the the 65e yoke though The new steel Drive shaft and yoke weren't that expensive.

You're list looks complete to me. Definitely get the factory trans lines they make for a nice clean install.

Just swapping out a yoke would be great. I am betting that there is GM DS out there that could be had and drop right in as far as length. I wish I had a source for all the Hummer, Yukon, Tahoe, Silverado DS specs. Might be out there heading to google shortly. Splicing trans lines isn't a big deal, not much pressure in them. Can be done easy enough but I'm with you about not splicing. I'll probably just do complete new flexible stuff so I can route them away from the header heat.

I didn't think the 80e's had servo's. At least wasn't finding any info on them.

yoke is only needed if you are 2wd. if 4wd then just shorten rear ds by 1-1.5 inches

The 4L80E's have an intermediate and reverse servo assembly... located in the case body underneath the pan. As far as I know do not require upgrade. You can call Vince at FLT to make sure but I didn't upgrade mine. The 80E's also have accumulators but do not need upgrade either... I would not change them unless they are worn.

Wiring info in case you don't have it...

I'll give them a look. The 60e's run right in amongst them.

Speed Engineering is listing a yoke in their 4wd extended cab conversion kit. Going to give them a call. They will probably be the source for a lot of the parts.

When are you planning on doing this? In a hurry, or is this a winter project? I'd like to help, just to get an idea as to what is involved. I'm still in Bangkok till the end of Sept, but might be free in the months after. I'd be leery of that Speed Eng kit. Especially their crossmember. Some members haven't had such good luck with them.
