basically dave told me it would act like a 3800-4000 since its a heavy truck and since the gearing in a 80E is different then a 60E

Damn thats a loose converter!!

With the procharger in your truck I don't see a need to go that loose... i mean sure they like a loose converter, but you only need it to be loose enough to hit decent boost off the line. Beyond that I think it will be wasted. If you don't have the power to cut a 1.5x 60' with that converter I'll eat my hat. The 3600 will have small enough shift extensions, and the 80e has tighter ratio gearing.

I have a different mind set though... I don't like loose converters which is exactly why I went down the path that I did with the maggie.

I think Idahoblkss was cutting 1.9 60' in his SSS with a cam only LQ9, a stock pulley on his D1 and a 3200 converter (which he claims is tighter than that). Granted he was running a smaller cam, but I think between all your other mods, 400 higher stall, and the reduced weight, your truck will rocket off the line.
