Default 80e swap

Where do I get all the parts for an 80e swap. I need the wiring, and transfer case input gear. Anything else? Will the floor shift lever for the 4x4 still work, or will I have to get a longer one? I have a steel one piece driveshaft to get cut down, and the front one to get made longer.

I'm getting a new trans, yank tcc, and flexplate. Please help me with a list, and where to get this stuff.

How about getting a Circle D Converter. We have the Multi disk lock up feature. Check it out and if interested let me know.

I called you today at about 2pm, and no one answered.

I agree that the CircleD converter is the way to go I have a CircleD multi disc sitting at FLT waiting for me to pay off my trans. Everything that I've heard about CircleD has been positive, and the customer service that I received was top notch. Keep up the good work Chris

I recommend having a look at this thread. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=424904

Modify your existing wiring. It's a snap. I got my input gear from tbtrans.com. I think custom shaft is only way to get the rear DS right and you can find the right GM front shaft without modifying one. I'd bet your current 4wd cable will make the extra 1.5"

Good luck.

Good luck.
I have read that and it doesn't seem difficult, and thanks on the site for the gear, thats a lot cheaper than I have been finding.
I can't find a speed sonsor connector any where that isn't with the converion harness for $275+. Would the dealership have one, I kind of have a hook up there?
My driveshaft is a one piece steel one and a driveshaft/axle shop in town said they could do whatever I wanted to it, and told me not to get a custom one.

go to a local junk yard and cut one out. I found my connector and like 3 feet of wire in a wrecked van with the shell off the motor and trans, it was pretty easy other than the harness being all haggered. Good luck, I love my 80e despite it needs a rebuild

If you have access to junk yards get the speed sensor connector there as mentioned. Try and get the wiring all the way to the PCM as it will have the pins them also. The sensor wiring also needs to be twisted all the way to the PCM. I'm sure you could also get the connector at the dealer, I know I've picked up miscellaneous connectors there.

The guys at the transfer case place are probably wondering why they are selling so many of those input gears.

I wasn't saying do a complete new custom rear DS.... I meant you probably weren't going to find an OEM the right length. I agree, modify you're current if you have confidence in the local shop. Only concern is be sure they can do a good high speed balance.

He knew exactly what I was doing when I asked for the part, it caught me off guard.
I said "I want this input gear for this transfer case"
He said " doing the 80e swap?"

I work on garage doors, and worked on theirs once, they do it all. Their shop is twice as big as any local tranny, or speed shop in the area, I don't really understand why, but it's huge, probably 40000 sq. ft.

I talked to circled today, and ordered the input gear. I meant to call FLT, and the dealership, but there isn't enough time in the day. I will ask the price of a new speed sensor, but if it's to expensive, I will go to the junk yard.

Thanks for all the help and opinions, and keep it coming.
