Default 6L80E Sunnax Zip Kit ????

Anybody ever install one? Are there other parts needed like gaskets or anything that doesn't come with the kit? I want to get one for my truck.

I just built my own 6L80 with all of the Sonnax parts they offer and I bought a GM Service kit for the Valve Body to pump seals and other misc o rings

In my opinion the kit is decent for what it is. However with the valve bore wear this unit is known for in most cases reamers are needed with oversized valves. Currently the shop I work for we reman these valve bodies daily using the sonnax valves however we do not use the zip kit.

How easy is it to DIY? I have no problem using the reamers as I am a machinist by trade.
Only reason I'm loking into the kit is because, while driving normally the trans acts perfect. But once I flash the converter the trans acts all weird. Has issues going into lockup. Not sure if ts tune related, pressure related.....but I like to do things on my own. So thats why Im asking

Very much able to do yourself, just need the special torx socket for the 6 bolts that hold the valve body assemby to the case, a new separator plate and seal kit... what year is your trans?

Hahaa easy.... One of the easiest transmissions to wrench on, If you go all of the way you will also need the big *** snap ring pliers.

Somnax zip kit doesnt require going that deep, maybe pulling pump down if iirc, but if you dont want to change the valve in the pump, dropping the valve body is a cake walk, i think i was able to get my pan off and the vb/tcm assembly off with the y pipe still in place, although dropping the y pipe off the manifolds does make it easier.... i need to get off it and get my zip kit in soon, but the p0016 is more pressing at the moment!!! Think my zip kit showed up the day after i swapped my separator plate....impatience is a ****!!!
