But if your planiing to make more power then maybe a 80 would be a good swap, since your in a heavier truck... Good Luck

Yes, I have bought all the parts and seen it tore apart once and watched it go back together once...the stuff is in there...even the borg warner sprag in my "4l65e"

The only thing that it does not have is a billet shaft.

There are a few things that we do not advertise that go into our units. Trade secrets so to speak. Also one box of parts with 2 different builders might not yield the same results. Just a thought. Maybe you should go with an 80. Vince

Of course, the last ingredient that goes into each trans is a dash of love

Sorry, couldn't help myself I know this though, if I ever know what cash is again, I'm getting an FLT Level 5 65E when I build my LQ9

I have had my fair show of trans problems...still do. BUT, I have to ask after multiple failures...what are the failures? Have you investigated other items? Bent fly wheel? Thrust bearing is out by 1000th? Transfer case have a busted seal and pushing the input shaft into the trans? Obviously 2 different local trans shops could have built a real Frankenstein trans for ya. I am pro 80e for anything with lots of *** from the dig on anything that weighs more than 5000 lbs, but with you being right at the 500 mark with multiple failures in a small time frame I'd be really suspicious that something isn't right. Get Vince on the phone, just the confidence alone will sell you, but more importantly you can get put in the right direction by calling those guys.

I really think that my 1-2 shift is just TOO harsh due to the SUPER HOLD servo. I am going to put a corvettte servo in this time and soften things up a bit. It literally feels like the truck is going to break in half when it shifts...I get an occasionaly bark out of it (AWD too). I think I am just going to get it back in working order and take all the good go fast parts off sell them, thne sell the truck as a bolt on deal. I cannot afford to put an 80 in and a 122 thatI have been wanting and would almost have to have gto make up for the horrible gear ratioed(SP) 80 and its weight. Not to mention a built motor....it JUST never stops! I am not as well off after getting a divorce and with the economy the way it is my biz is in a shitbox right now. Trust me I would love to go 80e but doubt its not gonna happen.

BTW: talked to the shop and they said labor would be free, I just buy whatever part(s) needed.

WOW. So about where do you think the power cutoff is for a 65e sconsidering 5k + lb truck awd? So are these companies advertising 7-800hp cabable 65e trans hogwash?

IDK, message me a ballpark on me sending you a repaired 65e for tradein on an 80e....if possible or interested.

thanks

Who does your tuning? eerrr, is it custom tuned? Wanna email that file to one of us? You are probably dealing with a bad trans tune.

I highly doubt that, but yes ill dig it up. The truck has always done this (4 different tuners) I have no line pressure raised and my epc is on 0 as well.
the trans does all the pressure regulating itself.

And back to the tuner, he is THE ****, everyone in KY uses him, hepulls numbers oout of motors that others cant and their reliable.

A 4L60 can be built to handle some power.. I dog the crap out of mine and it's still kickin. 603 rwhp and 701 rwtq and I'm at the track at least once a week with 12.5 wide tires..... Although myn is a regular cab 2wd and lighter than yours.. Either get somebody that knows how to build a 4L60 or go all out and get the 80.

don't get me wrong, not knocking the tuner. The best forget(overlook) a small thing. I have seen a spot in the in shift tables where all that was wrong was a higher mph in the downshift and a lower in the upshift. Only 2 cells wreaked havoc on that ride. If is always snapping your neck on the 1/2 then something is wrong, albeit tune, electronics, shift kit, whatever.
