Default 65e Trans again or something else?

I have had this post at two other sites with 0 help or knowledge put forth....I forgot this is the ONLY place where anybody knows anyhting

Anyway:
I just wasted my second BUILT trans in 3 weeks, 4th in a year. I know I could go with an 80 and all that crap, but don't want to....would rather fix the trans one more time, take everyhting off and sell it if I cant get a 65 to work.

I messed around with it today and reverse, 1st and 2nd gears work and Drive will hold for a minute, then pop out????? any ideas? Doesnt sound like total catastrophe as I initieally thought. Something broke as I could hear it snap, grind and evertything else. It sounded and felt liek the driveshaft broke and started dragging, but didn't??? I wonder if maybe the transfer case gave way...???

Thanks In Advance guys

Wow.....that sucks! Who is building the trans for you or are you doing it yourself?

I would go for the FLT Level 5 myself or throw in the towel and do the 80e. Mine has been holding up to the abuse I throw at it. we have similar hp#'s (without the nitrous I am ~515) and what is your fianl gear ratio?

I would love to hear that. They sell too many with the same or more power than I am putting out.

I build gm transmissions and i went through 7 4l60e trannies with every combination of parts known to man before i put a 5 speed in my truck. i dont know how much power your truck is making but i can tell you that when you got on it and you heard that bang like somehthing let go it was the sprag in the input housing that rolled over. i know ive done it twice you chould be able to have it swapped out for a new borg warner one and be just fine.

Do you no for a fact that your tranny has more then what flt or other proven companies have in their trannys, not being a dick but a built 65 should hold up to the hp your putting down.I would pull it apart and see exactly what is in there, then try a FLT or Performabuilt tranny out. But if your planiing to make more power then maybe a 80 would be a good swap, since your in a heavier truck... Good Luck

John
