60e to 80e swap 4x4??????
Startn to decide on what to do on my tranny issues so decided to get a 4l80e.
1) does my t-case direct swap over?
2) does anybody know driveshaft lenghts to cut to? Or will the driveshafts off the 4l80e be right length with different u joints?
3) will a 80e flexplate work on 5.3? im sure will just want to confirm
4) best way of doing the wiring changes buy harness or repin wires?
5) after swap will trans work enough to drive 30 miles to tuner?
Any info help anwsers be nice thanks or things I might be missing

1. You need to make sure you have the 4wd adapter for the 80e. Its different than the one on the 60e. Youll know because its steel and not magnesium alloy. You also need to change the input shaft on the tcase because of the higher spline count and diameter increase of the 80e output shaft. This depends on what tcase you have.
2. You need your dshaft (1 and 11/16") shoter.
3. Depends on the year of flexplate. If its flat you need the spacer, if its raise in the center you dont, but you do need a converter that fits the 80e. Best option is get an aftermarket converter that fits the 80e but has a 60e LS1 bolt pattern so you can use your stock flexplate.
4. Either one is fine...if wires scare you buy the harness.
5. The shifting will be all screwed up and you will be stuck in second gear. With that said if you drive very slow you should be fine, but I would see you cant get him the pcm to flash before hand so you dont have to make that drive.
6. Your crossmember needs to be moved 2.5" back. Your rear cooler line needs to extended. Make sure you have the correct rear cooler line fitting. You need to add 2 pins to the pcm for the ISS front sensor. Cut the ears off the side of the trans near the bellhousing.
