Default 60e to 80e ?

I just bought an 80e with the tranfercase still attached. Can I use the tcase that came on the 80 or do i need to use the 60 and get the shaft and adaptor?

also what flywheel will i need? the stock 80 or is there a certain one with an adaptor made for the 60,80 swap?

will the speartech harnes be a plug n play?

if there is any tip I have not read in the stikies please fill me in.

This is for a 2004 silverado 5.3.

Can't help with the 4wd swap. You will need a segment swap done in the pcm to run the 4l80e.

yeah, my tuner (turbodave) says that the segment swap is not a problem. I'm just trying to get all my ducks lined up before I take the 60 out. so maybe not to many hang ups or mising things I need. I got a smoking deal on the 80 ($325) with tranfercase, trans, dip stick and tube, converter out of a low mileage truck. After 5 60's in the last yr I'm going to try this.

both should be electric shift.

Out of all the swaps it seem everyone used the adaptor and the 60 tcase.

Save your money on the harness. Just need to swap two wires in the big connector and add a vss plug and wire it to the pcm.
