you also have to do sum wiring i bought a harness from a 6.0 80e truck so it was plug and play only diff is the plug on the o2s

80e... NO REGRETS.. the guy is still driving mine with the 80e.... to me the little bit of loss is worth the insurance of a stronger trans.. although i liked the gearing... first was long but the others were all closer together... you wont regret it...

i had 2,000 in my swap.. thats with 1,000 in a tq converter

Thats a pretty good list right there.. mine cost me about $900 for everything.. i used the stock TC.

No problems since.. also a very hard shifting 60E will kill the output shaft very quick. that was one of my problems, i learned later on anyway.


The swap is very very simple..

All you need is a complete trans, TC, dipstick, shifter bracket and Flexplate for 80E.
Mod your Crossmember and bolt everything in,, get a TH400 Yoke and i think you have to get your DS shortened.

This is why everyone making good power should do the swap. My level 5 was $2500+, plus $615 for the torque converter, plus another $600 to have it rebuilt after I lost reverse a couple days after installing it.
