Default 5.13's installed with T56

I swaped out my 4.30's for 5.13's yesturday and I'm very happy. It seems to be about perfect for my tire height (275/55-20's). 1950rpm @ 70 mph and 2200 @ 80 mph in 6th. I was torn between 4.88's and 5.13's. The final drive is equivalent to a f-body with stock tire height and 4.10's for comparison. The 5.13's sound steep but not when you are comparing a 25.5" tall f-body tire to my 31.75". Just thought i'd share.

Also, i'm starting to love Motive Gears. The 4.30's and 5.13's were both Motive. I put the same pinon shim (the stock one) and the same shims on the carrier and the backlash was in spec and the pattern was perfect. Couldn't have been easier.

I didn't know you were a Dodge man!!!!!!! I'm sure you meant to put this in GM Drivetrain. But either way, those gears sound like they would be a blast to drive with. Especially in a TRUCK and it also bein a 6 speed. That is just the right combo for fun!!

5.13's?!? Nice! That should be about right on the highway. I know with 275/55/20's my 4.56's weren't enough on the highway. Hopefully I'll get as lucky as you when I do my gear swap. I'm glad to see somebody has some ***** to try steep gears. I remember when I did 4.56's everybody thought I was nuts.
