Default 4WD Newb question

I recently bought my '02 Tahoe w/ 4WD...this is my 1st 4WD vehicle. Anyways, is it normal to have a lot of resistance when 4wd is engaged and I'm trying to turn? I understand that it's harder to drive wheels that are turning but it seems really hard to turn in a parking lot. Just wanted to know if there's anything to worry about. Truck is an '02 w/ 54K.
TIA

It's totally normal for it to feel like it's binding up when in 4wd and on a hard surface. That's why GM says don't put it into 4x4 on dry pavement. Of course, some of the guys on here have been known to put them in 4wd to launch at a drag strip.

Thats fine I use mine all the time while "comparing acceleration" on the street bt not while turning on dry pavement dont do it you are giving your t-case hell. It is fine to go in a straight line with it engaged.
