Default 4L80e (van or truck) whats the difference between the two.

I recently scored a 80e out of an express van wit the 4.8. I hear a ton of people sayin there are a lot of differences between the 80's in the trucks and the vans. Can someone clear this up for me cause everyone I ask tells me something different.

Are you sure it's an 80e? I don't think anything came with a 4.8L and an 80e.

Yeah all the 4.8 vans in a 2500 had an 80E behind them. The only siginificant difference I found when I was looking was tailshaft lengths as there is a longer and a shorter one. Some guys say the 4.8 convertor is looser too but that's moot unless you want that thing lol.

The trans itself should be the same. As mentioned maybe a different tailshaft or converter but other then that they should be similar.

Yea i figured the trans themselves would be the same. I was just wondering if anyone knew the differences in stall speeds.
