So I'm a little confused and hoping someone can help me out. I took the valve body out of my trans and have 9 checkballs. This is a 2001 trans and I was expecting to only see 8. Where did this 9th one come from. I did this all late last night, put it back together with the 7 they recommended, but have a funny feeling that the extra checkball should be in there somewhere. I haven't put fluid in it so removing it isn't a big deal. Here's the pic of my valve body after I took it out.



I tried searching but can't see to find anything that is clear on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to get back into this thing later tonight.

 

In case anyone else runs across this, the newer 4l80e has 9. 2 are not needed, just put the 7 back that the transgo directions say.

 

What years 4l80e have 9 check *****?
