Default 4L80e trans swap?

I was just wondering if any 97 and newer 4l80e will bolt to an LS series engine? Or does it have to be a 97 and newer LS specific?

Nope, any of them will bolt up. The earlier models are missing the top center bolt flange but will still work.

The casting on the bellhousing is not flat where the bolt needs to go through. Seems like many have run the older trans without using the top bolt.

Basically all you need is the 4 bolts around the Dowel Pins....
Only reason i have 5 bolts in the 80E is cause i used one to put a zip tie on to hold some wires up and out of the way....

What about electronics and harnesses. Will there be a problem if I use a 4l80e from a 1998 or a 1995. Or are they all the same.
