I'm pretty sure he already got his 80e in.

For anyone wondering measure the distance from the front of the bellhousing on your 60 to the stud that mounts to the crossmember. Subtract that distance from 30 5/8 and you will have the exact amount to move back the x-member.

What did you 4l60e to 4l80e swap guys do about mounting the trans to the bracket? I was about to cut my bracket to move a section back but the rubber bushing spacer thing has no way of mounting to the 80e. Did you just let the tailshaft drop ~2 inches and drill new holes so the 80e contacts metal to metal on the crossmember?

EDIT: I've come to realize that 4wd and 2wd crossmembers are much different.

which crosmember do you have?? the square tubing crossmember. or the tall raised center one...

If you have the square tubing x member, cut the mount off, flip it backwards, weld it back on, and youre done... works on mine, fits perfectly.

i was wondering about this, i was lookin at a cross member the other day for a 80swap into a 99 and it looked like it had been cut, flip and rewelded but i wasnt sure on that.

I measured mine from my 60e to the 80e I was putting in. I believe it was like 5 3/4 on mine. I flipped my trans mount around for a better fit. Best thing to do is measure bell house to bolt on both trans and then cut and weld from there
