Default 4l80e swap cover ?

Ok. i read on some thread where a guy gave the essential part numbers for the 4l80e swap. he said the gm part number for the converter cover was 15000206. i ordered it and a thin piece of sheet metal came in that bolts up to the 80e but it doesn't look like it'll block out dirt. i got under my dad's 2500hd and he's got a big ol' aluminum housing with pn 15765623. my question is, what the hell is the 1500206? it only has 4 bolt holes: the top two and the bottom two on each side versus the other which has 6 holes: top, middle, and bottom. thanks for any help

I know what your talking about. When I did my swap I found it was cheaper to get the cover from Speed engineering. The local dealer wanted over $120 for it. Plus I would have needed to wait 5 days for it. I'd get in touch with speed engingeering. There a sponser to the right ---------------->

well i researched it at my dealer (luckily someone i used to work with works at the parts dept now so she helped me out a bit) and the thin piece (15000206) will work but the two bolts on the bottom will be covered up. the 15765623 is the aluminum piece, had to be ordered from tennessee but she gave me a break and it was about 60 bucks, i haven't paid for it yet but that's what she said it would be. so i got it on the way and i guess i just have to eat the 22 dollar thin cover.
