4l80e question
#1
i put a 4l80e in my race car and had a drive shaft built i tryed to install it yesterday and the shaft is to long i know i measured it right so i remeasured the shaft fron rear u joint forward to where the seal on trans should ride that looks right so when i slip the shaft onto the trans all the way until bottoms out and mark where the seal rides and pull shaft out it's only going in 2.5 inches out of 5 inch's of spline is there less splines on output shaft then normal ? the output shaft in this trans has the bolt hole in the center..

Trucks with bolt on Yokes only have 2-3/8" of spline then an o-ring to seal it off since it didn't ever move. Vans with one pc driveshafts and slip yokes had splines all the way up. You would need the counterbored strange 1650 yoke if you have the big 1350 u-joint and you should be good to go. Jake at Jake's performance stocks them (he gave me the info on the shafts so I bought mine from him).
