Default 4L80E possibly slipping when taking off from a complete stop?

On my grandpa's truck, occasionally it feels like it slips or something when taking off from a stop. It feels like the tires spin for half a second or so, but they aren't. Is this common in the 4L80E? Normal? Any easy fix, or is there something I should log in HPTuners? Every other gear is fine, and no other problems. Low miles, never abused. Thanks for any input.

Anyone? Is there any way to log it with HPTuners and see what the problem is? What sensors should I log?

just logging rpm and vehicle speed you should be able to see if the rpms 'flare'.

as they all told me its hard to kill a 4L80E if the truck is stock.

Mine feels strange sometimes as well... Ive also noticed that some times it doesnt down shift when under like 10 mph... say when your rollinmg threw a stop sign.

About 36000 miles on the truck. I have 200k on my abused 4L60E, so I seriously hope his 80E isnt going out already.

A few times a year, my truck will hold second gear when I come to a stop sign/red light. When I start to accellerate, it will start in second, but slip into first and cause a similar feeling as what his did when I noticed it. Perhaps that's what is happening?
