Is there a rpm for the 4l80e where the clutches try to engage due to centrifugal force? Seems like I read that the 60's don't like real high rpms, so I'm wondering about the 80e before I choose some build stuff for my 6l.

so the builder will probably need to know if your going to be turning a decent rpm? i never took my 60e over 6200 unless it missed a shift but then i had the tb close around 6300 just to be safe.

Edit: I guess it would make a difference if we are talking a stone stock transmission or one that is/has been rebuilt.

Either way these are things that are good to put out there. That way people will know not to just throw in a shift kit and go spin their motor to 7,000 and wonder why the Trans went. I just remember seeing it on a random thread years ago so I decided to ask.
I want to do the Holley intake on my 6L and I need a new cam, so I figured might as well get the cam to match the I take if the Trans can take it. I don't want 7,000 but 6500 would be ok.
