Yep, broke/rolled the intermediate sprag and took out the 2nd gear clutches (I think that's what he said).

Decided against going with the super expensive upgrade sprag and just toning down the 1-2 shift. Should be back together and on it's way home by the end of the week.

What did the 4L80E set you back new? Why did you go with a vacuum module over setting up the pressure in EFIlive your self?

I don't want to discuss price in the thread since my guy isn't a sponsor.

Jim does all of his trannies with vacuum modulated to remove the opportunity for excessive shift pressures to be set in the PCM, breaking hard parts. Seems ironic now I guess

I understand the principle behind it though. I asked him for EPC and he wouldn't do it.

Tranny came home today I have class tonight so I doubt that I will be able to get a whole lot done, but I should have her back on the road by tomorrow night.

Well like a dumbass I started and finished the install last night. Wouldn't have been bad, except that I had class till 10pm. I went to bed at 3:30 this morning. I woke up at 8 and I am exhausted. But I got to drive the truck to work today

Good job Chris! Sounds like you got everything sorted out in a efficient and cost sensitive manner. I had that same problem with my original tranny and I was told it was a burned 2-4 solenoid...maybe it was the sprag...

I know the feeling of driving the truck after it's been broken for months. Makes the all-nighters all worth it.
