Default 4l80e fitting ?

on the pressure fitting on an 80e, the one that is closest to the rear of the tranny, when i took it out there was a like an inch extension that went in the transmission. now i need to make my own lines for my 80e swap and i don't know if that fitting needs to go that deep in the tranny or if i can just use a fitting that mates up like the other short fitting. i'll get a pic up of it asap.

i have the lines made up by cutting the lines and adding tranny rubber hose tightly clamped but i wanna eventually do stainless steel braided

The rear cooler fitting feeds into the center support. It MUST be used. You can read blown3qtr's thread here on page one to see where it goes...

I am going to buy an SS weldable -6AN fitting, machine off the top of the stock fitting where the spring clip seats, and weld the fitting on. There are other creative ways of accomplishing the same thing but you get the picture...
