In our opinion Its acceptable to run 060" steels in thr direct clutch as long as you run them 1 at the bottom of the clutch drum and the 2nd at the top rather than cutting cut the top plate .030" instead to maintain the rigity of the plate. Just make sure the bottom steel engages the clutch drum spline and does not free spin.
