Default 4L80E conversion questions..

Well I have been conteplating doing this for over a yr now and now it looks like I'm being forced to..
Well here is the gear ratio gear by gear in the nissan Jatco RE5R05A
1st) 3.827
2nd) 2.368
3rd) 1.52
4th) 1.0
5th) .834
With gearing being this steep a 2.94 rear end gear is the same as a 3.73 gearing /w a gm 4 speed trans supposedly..

and our 3.36 gearing is supposedly the same as your 4.10 gearing with the same gm 4 speed trans.

What excactly is the gearing like in the 4L80E?
I want to make certain that it is within 5% so i do not lose my ABS and cruise control. If it is too far out of tolerance i will have to beg and plead with uprev to re-calibrate my ecu i guess.. but getting anything done out of the ordinary thru them is like trying to create the 8th wonder of the world imo..

Lastly i plan on using a 16x28x11.50 hoosier slick at the track and can you tell me what gear i would cross the traps in if i had 3.73, 4.10, or 4.56 gears? those are the only 3 rear end gear sets i can currently get for my rear end hopefully i'll still be in my powerband..
thanks..

I think you mean higher. I think the two speed power slide is about the only other production automatic with a higher 1st fear
then the 4L80E. An 80e is more or less an electronic turbo 400 with over drive.

hehe the nissan 1st gear ratio is a 3.827 my truck accelerates like a bat out of hell out of the hole for a 5,300 lb truck but after i get out of first gear i'd get raped by sports cars till i got my turbo..

i guess cause of the way my truck is geared in the trans is why i can run a 2.94 rear gear and still do decent at the track but chevies use 3.73's and 4.10's

What happened to the current trans that last you 2100 or so miles?
