i run an 80e and its not bad if you put a rear gear like 4.10s... with a stall.. this thing moves....

and you will have a better OD

Move to a 3.73 gear with that 80E turbo setup and in your heavy truck you will like it. I had the same basic setup and it was great for just about everthing. I had a very tight Yank SC 3000 with it. Spooled my 78mm 347ci setup very quickly. What are you going to do about electronics and a converter? Who makes such an animal? I'm assuming you'd go to a standalone trans controller?? Very interesting swap. Curious to see how it will pan out. Truck should be all around faster with the 80E as well.

least be half a second faster imo with a transbrake installed.. i kept getting shitty 60's cause i couldnt get boost off the line without making the whole assend of my truck bounce and want to launch forward, the damn brakes wouldnt hold it..
12.39@109mph isnt bad for summer weather imo.. i think change out the trans = 11.8's easily.. also I plan on using a standalone controller for the Trans and paddle shifters..

put it in Drive, and mash the pedal IMO... paddle shifters would be cool on the street but the trans shifting itself will be more consistant as far as the track goes.

Dont get too excited about having transbrake. I have it on my 4l80e and I hate it, it takes a long time to disengage. I've gotten nothing but shitty 60'
Here's a thread talking about it.

Give me a shout, I'm in Texas and would like to replace a Rossler brake with mine for some feedback. I think you will change your mind.

i think a 4l80e with a full manual conversion like this one is probably going to be your best bet:

should be an interesting conversion..
