Default 4L80E Conversion guys.. Please come in..

What modifications are needed for the 4L80E swap? What changes need to be made the pcm in order the for the tranny to work correctly?

A local tuner has HPTuners and has never performed this type of tuning before.

Speed Engineering (sponsor) sells a conversion kit. They have a list of the conversion parts here http://speed-eng.com/store/index.php..._940_1409_1713

There are a few parts that you may or may not need depending on 2wd vs 4wd or whatever. I would give them a call and they can help you with an exact list of parts.

I'm not sure what version of HPTuners you need to do it but, the entire operating system from a 80E truck needs to be flashed into your computer. When you normally tune your truck you just flash in the calibration, the 80E swap requires you to flash the entire PCM file though.

The rest is just plugging in a few wires to the PCM and getting the adapter harness. Give Sean a call out at Speed Engineering. He can take care of ya, tell him I sent ya.

Exactly. I have the trans in the truck all bolted up. I bought the wiring harness from Speed Engineering and it is plugged in. The tuner is not familiar with what is involved in getting the 80e to work.
