I know he can do it. The problem is that the truck is in Sac at SMI and the tranny guy says the truck couldnt be driven. Towing it would be a bitch.

There is a mobile guy that is going to make an attempt to tune it.

Correct if Im wrong anyone;

To tune for the 80E, you need to have an 80E file flashed into your PCM.

But does that affect your vin in the pcm, or is that just the 80E transmission file? The tuner thinks that by flashing the pcm with a 80E file from another truck will overwrite my current vin in the pcm, sound right?

With the right software you can edit the VIN stored in the PCM. Shouldn't be an issue.
