Default 4L80 swap questions

Ok, so I picked up a badass 4L80 for a price I couldn't pass up. I have a couple questions...

It's a full manual valve body. I'll need to swap in a trans segment for a manual correct? Who can do this for me?

Cross members. I don't want to do any fabbing. I've found one that isn't priced very high that will bolt right in. Are there any factory cross members I could use with out cutting and welding? I don't mind drilling holes. My truck is a 2007 classic 2wd.

Are one of these yokes one that I would use with my stock drive shaft? Which one?

Congrats on your 80e, you will enjoy it!

I believe if you have HP tuners you send them your tune and they do the segment swap for you.

EFI Live you do it yourself, its not hard and there is a tutorial about it on their website/forum.

Not 100% sure on the ebay yokes, but you can also get one from the salvage yard from an 80e truck . You will need a shorter driveshaft.

You could get a crossmember from a 99 truck and redrill mounting holes in your frame for an easy crossmember.

If you can find someone with a 07 classic 3/4 ton and measure their crossmember a new one can be had for about $100 plus tax.

there is a thread floating around here and Tech, where a guy figured out how to wire the 4L80e to run off the 4L60e tune.. It uses relays... The main benefit is that you dont get the unlock of the TC when you let off the gas....

It's a manual valve body. The pcm won't control any of that

is it vacuum modulated and does the Manual valve body control the TC lockup? I thought a manual valve body only controlled the shifts, not the pressures and TC locking...

no the manual valve body does not control lockup. that will be done manually.

I'm needing to find out how I can swap in a trans segment from say a 5 or 6 speed vehicle

How many quarts of fluid? New converter, stock pan. Pan has been pulled and fluid drained that way. Thanks
