Do I have to wait for bill at Hptuners or are you able to do it just cause we have tuner. What I'm asking if file is only coming from hptuners?

 

The latest hptuners software allows you to segment swap on your own computer. You need to find a donor truck tune that has a 80e to swap from.

Is it in the tune or wiring?

 

Donor file has to be the same OS as well.

 

Has to be from a 2003 chevy silverado 5.3 2wd ?

 

I've been down over a month with this swap worst up grade so far.....

 

OS does not mean same vehicle.

It means both computers have to have a matching OS for the segment swap to work correctly.

 

When you pull your tune off your PCM in HPT it will give you your OS #, for instance 12579405. Just google "12579405 4l80e" and you'll find a bunch of tunes you can grab the trans tune off of for the segment swap. Other than that and running the VSS wires to the PCM, there are no electronic/ programming. What difficulties are you having specifically? Feel free to pm tgui he is the resident 80e swap expert.
