Default 4l70 to 6l80 swap

Hello everyone, I am new here. How is everyone?

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 6.0 4l70E and I have a buddy parting out his 2007 Yukon with a 6.2 6l80 awd since my 4l70 is dying a slow death and I believe my cam bearing is shot. I want to swap the engine and trans and all the goodies that connect to it over, but I also want to have 4x4 and have received some conflicting information locally and have found next to nothing online that helps. Does anyone know what would be needed to make it 4x4 and function? I would like to keep the 2 speed or at least electronic shift. My buddy is pretty confident in this swap and I’d like the 6 speed how ever I’m skeptical on it

I assume your truck is 4wd?
You could sell the AWD case and your case to get a regular case from a 4wd that was behind a 6l80.
think they are a Mp3023 or something like that

Hum.. was just thinking you would be better getting a 6l80 xcase and selling the AWD case.
I've never done the swap so not sure how to help.
