Default 4L65 differences, performance, etc...

With the STS kit (5-9psi), I'm pretty sure my 4L65 will fail eventually. I know FLP makes a built 4L65. How different is the stock 4L65 from the stock 4L60? Is it stronger?

Here's the issue... I want to put in a 2500 or so Stall. The cost to put in the Stall is about 6 hours. Or, I could go with a built trans that would include a shift kit and have the stall put in all for about 6-7 hours. So if I get a Stall now, then fry the Trans, I'll be out the extra 6 hours of labor.

Do I bite the bullet and do the Trans now, or hope that I won't smoke it?

Any other choices besides the FLP for $2850??

Thanks for any help/advice!!

I've heard the 4L65 is stonger than the 60, is that true? If so, i'm wondering if I really will need a built trans or not.?.?

The 65E is stronger than the 60E, but still has its weaknesses. The 65E has a 5 pinion planetary gear(that a built 60-E will have) instead of 4 like a stock 60E, it has a hardened sun gear, and hardened input and output shafts. I believe those are the main differences between the 60-E and the 65-E. It basically strengthens a few of the weak points.
