Most here think WOW what a bithchin dealer taking care of him.The dealer is double dipping, you said the factorys paying the dealer for a rebuilt or new 4L60e,so they make money there and then he's nailing you for an additional $1200? improved sunshell started about 01-02in all,5 Pinion GM planets dont cost that much.If they are charging GM and you both GM wouldnt not like that to well. How long is the warrenty?

I am well aware that they are making some cash. The thing is that some of my stock stuff is still good. They must submit/show gm damaged parts. those parts I am paying the excess. I still have to pay for parts that have been upgraded from usable stock parts.

The dealer is taking care of me in the fact that if I didnt want to rebuild an upgraded transmission, i wouldnt have to pay a dime.

So yes, they are probably double dipping/overcharging, but I am looking at it this way. i am getting a built 4l65e put in my truck for about $1200. I cant complain too much. Compare that to jag or flp built 65e at about 2300+shipping+installation...........

I am happy for now.

Wow! Sounds like a pretty good place! You better put the service manager at the top of your Christmas card list!! Good luck with the trans. I think if you don't drive like a maniac, and keep the fluid changed quite often, you should be ok.

The warranty will probably be the rest of my stock warranty. I have the standard 3/36. I am at 22,000 right now. I dont think they are going to add any type of other warranty onto it. I will inquire about it when I pick it up.

So are they building your toasted trans or are they building a new Serta 4l60e or are they bringing in a 4L64E all ready built?

I havent felt the need for a bigger AUX trans cooler, remember the factory builds these trucks to run flat footed up the steepest hill with max load.It isnt the heat that kills 96% of the 4l60es and 65es

On parts that break and the dealership fixes it generally you get a 12,000 mile warranty on that part only. This has been my experience in the past. And if you dont have a reall tranny cooler(not the factory POS) then you should have one waiting for installation when you drive it home.

Sounds like the dealers going to honor the factory coolers performance. Not much wrong with the factory cooler, remember the coolers job is to cool the temps comming to it,if somethings wrong internally the cooler can only do so much.A bigger cooler only bring the temps down a little sooner. And the fliud can handle pretty high temps for a while.
